Terms

Last updated

These are the terms you agree to by using Lumis. They are written in plain language on purpose — a document nobody can read protects nobody. In short: the app is yours to use, your records are yours and stay on your phone, and Lumis is a tool for keeping track of money rather than advice about what to do with it.

Who these terms are with

Lumis is made and published by Lumis.money — the developer name on our Google Play listing — operating as an independent developer from Azerbaijan. Where these terms say "we" or "us", that is who they mean. Where they say "you", they mean the person using the app.

You can reach us at support@lumis.money.

By installing or using Lumis, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app — and because nothing you enter is ever sent to us, walking away leaves nothing behind on our side.

You need to be 18 or older to use Lumis. It is a tool for adults managing their own money.

What Lumis is, and what it is not

Lumis is a record-keeping tool. You enter what you earn, spend, owe and plan; the app organises it, adds it up, and shows it back to you.

Lumis is NOT financial advice. It does not tell you what to do with your money, it does not recommend financial products, and nothing in it should be treated as guidance from a financial adviser. Decisions about your money are yours — and if a decision matters, talk to someone qualified.

Lumis is not a bank. It does not hold or move money, does not connect to your bank accounts, and cannot make a payment for you. Every figure in the app is there because you, or a feature you set up, put it there.

So the numbers are only as accurate as what you enter. Lumis faithfully adds up what it was given; it cannot know about a transaction you never recorded.

Your data is yours, and it lives on your phone

Everything you record stays on your device, encrypted. We do not have a copy. That is the design, and it has one consequence you should understand before relying on the app:

  • If you lose your phone, reset it, or uninstall Lumis, your records go with it. We cannot recover them for you, because we never had them.
  • Automatic backups are written to a folder on the same device. They protect you from a mistake inside the app. They do not protect you from losing the phone.
  • Use Export regularly and keep the file somewhere else. That is the only thing that survives a lost device.

Once you export a file, it is yours and outside our control — where you store it and who you send it to is your decision.

You keep every right to your own data. We claim no ownership of anything you enter.

What it costs

Lumis is free to use today. There are no in-app purchases and no subscription.

That may change. If paid features are ever added, what is paid and what it costs will be shown clearly before you pay anything, and payment will be handled by the app store you installed from — we never see or handle your card details. Anything you have already recorded stays yours and stays readable.

These terms do not promise that Lumis will be free forever, and they do not promise any particular price later.

Using the app fairly

You may use Lumis on your own devices, for your own purposes, personal or business. That is what it is for.

What you may not do: resell or redistribute the app as your own, take it apart to build a competing product from it, remove or obscure the Lumis name and mark, or use it to break the law.

The app, its name, its logo and its design belong to us. Using Lumis does not transfer any of that to you.

Updates, faults, and availability

Lumis is provided as it is. We work to make it correct and we fix what we find, but no software is free of faults, and we do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Updates arrive through the app store. An update may change, add or remove features. When an update changes how your existing records are read, it is designed and tested so that nothing you entered is lost — that is a rule we hold ourselves to, and it is why the app ships with migration tests.

We may stop developing or distributing Lumis. If that happens, a copy already installed keeps working on that device, and Export keeps working, so you can take your records with you.

We do not promise a response time to messages. We read them, and we answer what we can.

Where responsibility ends

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for money lost, decisions made, or records lost through use of Lumis — including data lost because a device was lost, reset or damaged, or because an export was never made.

Nothing here removes rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in. Where that law gives you a right, that law wins over this document.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use Lumis after that means the updated terms apply.

A change that materially affects you — anything that would start collecting your financial data, add a charge for what is currently free, or alter who your data can reach — will be shown to you in the app, not left on a webpage for you to discover.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This does not take away any protection you are entitled to where you live.
